SCOOP!! & NEWS Amitabh Bachchan on a 'Wall of Fame'04th June 2005 22.30 IST By Agencies As mark of respect and to pay tribute to mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan , a `Wall of Fame' was today dedicated to him at a function in Mumbai today. The wall, erected as part of the International Indian Film Academy awards (IIFA) function scheduled to be held at Amsterdam next week, was inaugurated by Bachchan's wife Jaya Bachchan at Adlabs in North-West Mumbai.
The `Wall…' carries memorabilia related to the star as well as pictures of Bachchan, the trophies won and posters of some of his forthcoming films. The posters of Bachchan, who is the brand ambassador for IIFA, provide fans a glimpse of him as the angry young man in Zanjeer, the comic hero of Namak Halaal, to the sensitive actor in Baghban and Black , organisers of the event said. A similar 'Wall' designed to last permanently would also be set up at Amsterdam, the venue of IIFA. Speaking on the occasion, Jaya, the Advisory Board Member at IIFA, lauded IIFA in taking initiatives in taking Indian cinema across the globe. The ‘Wall’, she said, would provide fans a glimpse of the movie king. Shravan Shroff, Advisory Board Member, said IIFA had endeavored to promote Indian cinema on global platform and the ‘Wall’ would help in taking a nostalgic trip into the legend of Indian cinema and was an apt tribute to Bachchan.
