SCOOP!! & NEWS Aishwarya to play Rajmata Gayatri Devi09th June 2005 22.15 IST By ApunKaChoice Bureau Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai will play Rajmata Gayatri Devi in a bio-pic by filmmaker J P Dutta. J.P.Dutta seems all set to translate the life and times of one of the most beautiful royal women, Rajmata Gayatri Devi, on to celluloid. And playing her role in the film will be no less stunning Aishwarya, who was recently voted the ninth most beautiful woman in the world. 
Ash and Dutta reportedly met Rajmata on her birthday on May 23 and proposed to make a film on her life. The Rajmata has given her consent and is believed to be keen on the film depicting the trials and tribulations of her extraordinary life. Speaking about the project, Ash told a news channel: "I can't believe I'll be playing one of the most beautiful women in the world! To get to enact Gayatri Devi, and that too in a film by director J P Dutta… I'm elated. But I'm also nervous. To play someone so legendary is a big responsibility." Ash is presently playing a real-life character of the battered Sikh wife Kiranjit Ahluwalia in Jagmohan Mundhra's film 'Provoked'. After that she'll play Gayatri Devi, another real-life character. The film on Rajmata is likely to be made in Hindi and English. It will be shot in Cooch Behar where Rajmata was born, besides Jaipur and London. J P Dutta is presently busy scripting both his proposed projects Umrao Jaan and the bio-pic on Gayatri Devi. In the coming days, Rajmata will introduce him to her friends, take him to the places relevant to her life. Such inputs will have tremendous bearing on the movie's script.
