SCOOP!! & NEWS Sushmita interested in art cinema12th June 2005 17.30 IST By ApunKaChoice Bureau After having played a variety of serious and non-serious roles in Bollywood movies, actress Sushmita Sen is looking forward to act in a few art films. Sush recently flew from Mumbai to Kolkata to introduce filmmaker Manish Jha's internationally acclaimed film Matrabhoomi. At the event, Sush asserted her willingness to work in realistic films.
Speaking to a news agency, Sush said that her experience of working in variety of Bollywood films has groomed her as an actress. “Everything that has come my way has moulded me as an actress and as a person. I haven't ever regretted doing any of these films...they have been great fun. But in days to come, there is another genre that I want to explore,” Sen told the agency. Sush presently has five films on her hand out of which one is called ‘Runway’. The movie tells the true story of a lady from Poonch district of Kashmir. Speaking about other projects, Sush said she also has an offer from award-winning filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh. “If that materialises, the Bengali audiences will soon see me in a Bengali film,” she said. Sush also iterated her desire to work with Manish Jha. “I have always been wanting to do a film with Manish Jha. Because all of his films go to Cannes!” she said in jest. As for Bollywood, Sush will soon be seen playing a nurse in David Dhawan comedy Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya .
