SCOOP!! & NEWS Salman-Ash: Close but distant!13th June 2005 19.45 IST By Aparajita Ghosh The two ex-flames of Bollywood crossed each other’s paths and sat within feet of each other during the three-day IIFA event in Amsterdam. Ain’t no use in digging out skeletons from the past. The Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai episode has been laid to rest for good. But few sparks were expected to fly when they came face-to-face at the IIFA forum.
On the opening day of the event, Salman and Aishwarya were seated just two seats away from each other. While Ash was busy chatting with filmmaker J P Dutta, Salman kept a poised silence. In between, he spoke to Kareena and Shahid Kapur, who were seated beside him on the other side. And then Salman was asked to come on stage to speak about IIFA. Salman went on the stage, mumbled a few words before he made an eye contact with Aishwarya. Then he suddenly stopped speaking and declared: “I’m very emotional today. I can’t speak.” Then he left the stage in a hurry. Although there was no direct communication between Salman and Ash throughout the event, eyewitnesses claim that there is indeed some subdued chemistry between the two. However, it would be indiscreet to jump to the conclusion that Salman left the stage because he felt “emotional” towards Ash. The whole IIFA event in the Netherlands was so grandiose and moving that many others too claimed that they were emotionally stirred.
