Aishwarya to replace Priyanka?

We recently told you that J.P. Dutta is planning to remake the classic Umrao Jaan and has zeroed in on former Miss World Priyanka Chopra to play the lead role. Things seem to have changed now.

That Dutta is an emotional man and takes things to heart can be stemmed from that fact that a couple of years ago when he wanted to sign Akshay Kumar for his war epic LoC Kargil and give Akshay a proper hearing about his role, the action hero didn’t take him seriously and asked the director to come over and narrate the script during one of his shoots.

Dutta was so miffed that he simply dropped Akshay from the film.

And now Priyanka has reportedly lambasted Dutta for announcing that she is going to play the lead role in Umrao Jaan even though she hasn’t signed the film.

Not only that, Priyanka has also reportedly said that Dutta was wrong in exploiting her current status in Bollywood to his benefit.

Reports are that Priyanka, who recently gave four consecutive flops - Asambhav , Aitraaz , Blackmail and Karam - has been dropped by Dutta from the project altogether.

And Dutta has approached none other than the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai to play the lead role in his remake of Umrao Jaan.

Reports say that Ash is considering the project and no decision has been taken as yet.

Seems like one beauty queen’s loss will be another beauty queen’s gain.
