Mallika bags two more international projects

After starring in the Jackie Chan flick, ‘Myth’, sex kitten Mallika Sherawat has bagged two more international projects, paving her way to the big international screen.

“I have received two more offers to star in international projects”, the actress who recently was in Cannes to promote her film ‘Myth’ along with co-star Jackie Chan said on Wednesday.

Refusing to divulge more on the international project, Mallika said, “it would not be right on my part to reveal the name of the films, we will have to wait for the producers to announce them”.

She, however, dismissed apprehensions that she would now move from Bollywood to Hollywood, “no way, Bollywood is where my bread and butter comes from,” she added.

The actress claimed that to her it was not the number of films that counted but the fact that the common man in India went to the theatres and bought a ticket to see her films. “It is finally the box office that counts and I want to crack it”, she admitted candidly.

However, the film ‘Myth’ and her name figuring in international magazines like Time as well as the response she received by the international media at Cannes, Mallika said this had changed the perspective by which people now viewed her.

“Following the endorsement by international media, people here have begun taking me seriously now”, she said.

Her own perspective of Bollywood after working in an international project was that “Bollywood was no different. We have the talent but what they possess is the technology, various facilities and above all big budgets. Working in an international project was a great educational experience”, she said.

On whether she faced a stiff competition from Indian stars going international like Aishwarya Rai , the candid star said, “I think I face competition from stars like Salma Hayek.”
