Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta ’s fourth movie together, Salaam Namaste, is a romantic comedy set in Australia.
The movie marks the directorial debut of Siddharth Anand, who assisted Kunal Kohli in Hum Tum . In fact, comparisons are being drawn between the two movies as Salaam Namaste tells the story of two Indian-origin characters who fall in love in Australia.
Siddharth Anand is quoted by an Australian newspaper as saying that the movie is about two Indians who have left their houses to make a life on their own in Australia.
“It’s about how they meet and how they tackle their own relationships and problems. It's a slice of that couple's life in that one year they spend together,” Siddharth is quoted.
A Yash Raj production, the movie has Saif playing a character named Nikhil Arora. Because he is living in Melbourne, he is called Nick.
Saif describes his character in the movie as “cool, strong, modern, and a smart Alec.”
The film also has comedian Arshad Warsi in a pivotal role. Aussie stunner Tania Zaetta plays Arshad’s firang girlfriend.
Colorful promos of Salaam Namaste are already being shown alongside the screening of Yash Raj’s Bunty Aur Babli . One teaser shows Saif and Preity sauntering on Australian beaches and streets.
Salaam Namaste has music by Vishal Shekhar. The movie will release in August this year.
