Ego clashes among actresses is quite commonplace in Bollywood.
Bengali filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh is readying to remake Sahib Biwi Aur Ghulam. He has already roped in saucy Priyanka Chopra to play Chhoti Malkin in the film. The same role was played by Meena Kumari in Guru Dutt’s movie.
To play the second female lead, Jaba, in the film, Ghosh is hoping to sign Kareena Kapoor , but he doubts whether the lissome actress will give her nod, knowing that Priyanka will hog the footage.
Kareena and Priyanka had a few ego clashes while working together for the movie Aitraaz . And it won’t be unexpected if Kareena turns down the offer to play second fiddle to Priyanka.
Although Ghosh says that for him both the characters of Chhoti Malkin and Jaba are equally important, he still has his doubts whether Kareena will commit to the project.
“To me they are equally important characters in the drama, just like Paro and Chandramukhi in Devdas… I could work the same magic with Priyanka and Kareena. But will Kareena work with Priyanka after Aitraaz?” Ghosh doubted.
