Ramu first worked with Abhi in Naach , which was one of the flops last year. And now he is returning with the politico-crime saga Sarkar which stars Abhishek and Amitabh together.
Ramu’s own personal tribute to Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘The Godfather’, Sarkar has Amitabh playing an influential political figure who wields power almost autocratically and sometimes even dispenses justice outside the realms of law. Abhishek plays his younger son who returns from abroad after completing his studies.
In the promotional campaign of the movie, slated to release next Friday, Ramu has said that he found Abhishek to be a better actor than his father Amitabh.
When asked why does he think so, Ramu’s reply was: “Mr. Bachchan (Amitabh) is an experienced actor with tall height and deep voice. Abhishek, on the other hand, is new, less experienced. Therefore, he is unpredictable and sometimes brings out a fine element of surprise in his performance.”
To Ramu’s compliment, Abhishek said in jest that Ramu was saying so to boost his morale. Abhi said in reality he considers his father an institution of acting.
