HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD When Hrithik wielded the golf club09th July 2005 22.53 IST By Agencies It was a different shot for Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan when he wielded the golf club. Hrithik took first-hand golfing lessons from ace cricketer-turned-golf lover, Kapil Dev at the Hero Indian Sports Academy (HISA) celebrity golf, organised at the lush Bangalore Golf Course today. 
Dressed in pristine white sports apparel and cap, Hrithik wielded the golf club under the supervision of the former cricket captain. Hrithik, who was nursing a wrist injury, meticulously followed the instructions of the captain, who demonstrated his golfing skills at the club. As the captain teed the ball, the actor tried to follow suit, much to the glee of his fans around. "I have now come to respect those who play golf", he said after he tried his hand at teeing, but was unable to make it despite repeated tries and encouragement from fans. Other celebrity members who also took their lessons in putting and the various shots from expert golfers included athlete and Olympic champion from Karnataka, Ashwini Nachappa, actor Vinod Khanna as well and top notch corporate honchos like Lee Kennedy and Phaneesh Murthy. The day also saw some of the celebrities and avid golf lovers participating in a golf tournament, comprising corporate heads and celebrities. Among those who gave the ball a shot were shooting champion R S Rathore, actor Madhavan , director Mani Ratnam , cricketers Syed Kirmani and Kapil Dev. Tennis sports star Sania Mirza and former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin also lent glamour to the event, organised to mark the kick off of the prestigious Hero Indian Sports Academy Awards.
