'Mangal Pandey - The Rising' London premier doubtful

Though there is no official word about it, reports are that the London premier of Aamir Khan starrer 'Mangal Pandey - The Rising ' is doubtful.

Reports are that in the wake of the recent cowardly and deplorable acts of terrorism in UK, the agencies that were to provide security to the host of VIPs (expected at the premier) have expressed their inability to do so.

While the organisers are tight lipped about the development for now we can only wait and watch.

The film is also slated to premiere in Locarno, Switzerland on August 3.

'Mangal Pandey - The Rising' is set against the backdrop of the Indian Mutiny of 1857. The film tells the tale of a heroic sepoy, Mangal Pandey, who spearheaded the movement that later grew into the struggle for Indian freedom from the British colonial rule.

Besides Aamir, the film also stars Rani Mukherjee , Toby Stephens and Amisha Patel .
