HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Mangal Pandey - The Rising slides down at box-office abroad24th Aug 2005 19.10 IST By Aparajita Ghosh After an impressive start at the box-office abroad and after raking in decent earnings in its first ten days, Ketan Mehta's movie 'Mangal Pandey The Rising ' is sliding down at the US and UK charts. In its second week at the US charts, the movie, starring Aamir Khan as the revolutionary Mangal Pandey, has slid from 21st position to 31st. 
Being screened at 63 theatres in the US, 'The Rising' has so far made a decent sum of $787,027 in its run in the US so far. At the UK charts too, the film has gone down from 10th spot to 14th spot in its second week. The film has so far made £440,835 in its run at 71 theatres in the UK. Last Friday's release Barsaat has made a good start at the UK charts. The movie opened at 12th position and made £141,504 during the weekend. My Wife's Murder , on the other hand, registered a poor start in the UK. The movie opened at 32nd position and made a paltry sum of £4,039 during the weekend. Although Barsaat may have been panned by critics in favor of more interesting 'My Wife's Murder', the former flick seems to be raking in moolah for its makers.
