Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar is stuck in a dilemma. He still hasn’t been able to sign the lead actress for his forthcoming movie ‘Corporate’.
Aishwarya Rai was initially supposed to play the cunning entrepreneur in Bhandarkar’s second part of his trilogy of exposés after Page 3 . But it is confirmed now that Ash won’t be a part of the project as she has no dates to spare.
As Bhandarkar wants “a top-notch heroine” for the lead role, he has zeroed down on two of the hottest belles – Bipasha Basu and Priyanka Chopra .
“I need a very saleable, strong, sensuous and powerful presence. I can't obviously cast a newcomer, but I can't get a top-notch heroine right way,” Bhandarkar is quoted as saying.
Bhandarkar disclosed that ‘Corporate’ would have more character actors than ‘Page 3’. For these marginal characters, Bhandarkar is roping in new and little-known faces from theatre.
But, for the female lead in his movie, Bhandarkar’s dilemma remains. Priyanka was seen playing an entrepreneur in Aitraaz . And her dates diary doesn’t allow dates for Bhandarkar’s movie before December.
Bipasha, on the other hand, seems a stronger contender for the role, particularly after her newfound chic and slim-trim looks.
Whatever the case, Bhandarkar says he will take the final decision within days.
