VJ-turned-actress Shenaz Treasurywala doesn’t want to be typecast as a sex kitten. Nor does she want to play second fiddle in films.
Shenaz says she has been getting ample acting offers from Bollywood ever since her movie Ishq Vishk released. However, the roles that she was offered were either sexy ones or were second leads. Shenaz decided to bide her time and wait for the right roles.
And Shenaz’s patience was duly rewarded as she got an important role in Karan Razdan’s movie Umar.
Set in London, Umar (Age) tells the tale of trials and tribulations of elderly people in their old age. The film also stars Satish Kaushik , Prem Chopra and Kader Khan .
Shenaz says she got to know about the role in Umar from Jimmy. Once she was certain she would play female solo in the movie, she jumped to the offer.
The shooting of Umar has already been wrapped. It was shot at an impressive speed with just 26 days’ shoot in London and three days in Mumbai.
