A fashion designer of royal descent has been roped in to design royal dresses for Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan for his movie Yagna .
Vidhu Vinod Chopra ’s film Yagna is the story of a Rajasthani royal family. The film has Bachchan in a pivotal role of a royal protector.
Keeping in mind the need for royal costumes required for Bachchan’s characters in the film, its makers have roped in fashion designer Raghuvendra Rathore , a scion of a royal Rajput family of Rajasthan.
Rathore is learnt to have designed achkans and kamarbands for Bachchan’s character in the film. He has used a lot of Kantha embroidery on cottons (symbolic of Rajasthan) to combine tradition and modernity.
Besides Bachchan, Yagna also stars Sanjay Dutt as a police officer and Saif Ali Khan as a prince.
