Now, with the success of Salaam Namaste , the actor has reached new heights. There was a time when filmmakers were not willing to bet on Saif as the movie’s solo hero, and the only roles he got were the second fiddle ones. But Saif has risen above everyone’s expectations to carve a niche for himself in Bollywood. 
Hum Tum proved Saif’s capability to carry an entire film on his shoulders. He also deservedly won this year’s National Award (Best Actor) for his performance in the film. Then, Parineeta had Saif showing his versatility as an actor. And now the good run of his latest release Salaam Namaste, both at home and abroad, has consolidated Saif’s image further. So much that Saif has been signed for Yash Raj banner’s next movie too. The film would be directed by Salaam Namaste director Siddharth Raj Anand. Saif has also become the favorite of Vidhu Vinod Chopra , the producer of Parineeta. He has clinched a significant role in Chopra’s movie Eklavya (previously titled ‘Yagna’). The movie will bring Saif and Amitabh Bachchan together on the big screen for the first time. Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra, who chaired the jury that gave Saif the National Award for best actor, told IANS about the great potential he sees in Saif. He told the agency: "I am glad that the industry is now realising his (Saif’s) potential. When we chose him for the National Award in 'Hum Tum', there was skepticism from certain quarters about our choice. I was very disappointed that the industry did not stand up in Saif's defence and no one publicly congratulated him on his achievement...They will probably do that now as he proves himself in his films.” True indeed.
