How much this gambit has paid off remains to be seen. Tanushree was given her first break by Vivek Agnihotri in Chocolate . Vivek’s wife Pallavi personally groomed her for a long-lasting acting career and soon Tanushree became like a part of the Agnihotri family. 
Agnihotri, who says he feels very protective towards Tanushree, wanted to launch her in a stellar role in ‘Chocolate’. And he advised the beautiful babe not to sign any other film until Chocolate’s release, as he wanted to project a particular image of her in the film. But Tanushree did not heed her mentor’s advice and signed another movie Aashiq Banaya Aapne . Knowing well that ‘Chocolate’ was her big break in Bollywood, Tanushree played the gambit. Consequently, Aashiq Banaya Aapne was completed and released before ‘Chocolate’. The movie turned out to be a dud and got much poorer reviews than the recently released ‘Chocolate’. Agnihotri believes that the release of Aashiq Banaya Aapne before ‘Chocolate’ has affected the audience perception of Tanushree. “By doing 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne', she has spoilt things a bit - not for me but for herself…She has a mind-blowing role in 'Chocolate'. Any newcomer would kill for it…I think 'Aashiq Banaya...' has given her the kind of image that she would find hard to erase,” Agnihotri is quoted as saying. However, Agnihotri denies he has any bitterness or grudge against Tanushree for what she did. “Tanushree is like a young member of my family,” he says. Meanwhile, Agnihotri has moved on to his next venture for which he has finalized Vivek Oberoi and Anil Kapoor .
