Will Shah Rukh Khan be lucky for the second time?

In February 2003, Devdaas failed to make it to the nomination list for the coveted Oscar award for 2002.

And now, another Shah Rukh Khan starrer - Paheli has been selected as the Indian entry for the Oscars.

SRK was not only the lead star of Paheli, but also its producer and though the film was dubbed as a ‘successful failure’ at home, the film grossed close to $1.5 million in the US.

And now, producer SRK and director Amol Palekar will sit together and discuss the strategy for the Oscars.

Palekar is obviously elated at his film getting an Oscars nomination, but said he was not "bothered about things like lobbying at the Oscars."

"All such talk (about lobbying) is unwarranted and undue publicity is given to it," Palekar said.

"I will sit with Shah Rukh Khan, who is also the film's producer besides being the leading man and discuss the strategy for the Oscars," Palekar said.

Palekar said he would also consult Sandip Sawant, director of Marathi film Shwaas , which was India's entry at the Oscars last year, while deciding course of action.

"I will also meet actor Aamir Khan and director Ashutosh Gowarikar whose film Lagaan was our entry three years ago", he said.

Asked by a news agency if being selected for the Oscars was at the back of his mind while making the film, Palekar said, "I make films because I like it and not because I want my film to be selected at the state, national or international level."

"I get satisfaction in making a film and so I make them", Palekar, whose directorial ventures, including the last one ‘Anahat’ starring Sonali Bendre , have a dominant theme of "women making a choice in their lives", said.

Here’s hoping that ‘Paheli’ does succeed in winning the coveted Oscar, which has eluded India for so long.
