Bollywood veterans Zeenat Aman and Rajesh Khanna are acting together after a very long gap for writer-director Shahrukh Mirza’s upcoming movie Jaana.
Interestingly, although the two actors play aged characters in the film, there is a love angle between them.
Rajesh Khanna (also known as Kakaji) plays a man who returns to India to find his old ladylove, played by Zeenat.
Zeenat plays a motherly figure to the film’s two young stars Rehan Khan (Shahrukh Mirza’s son) and actress Anjana Sukhani. Zeenat plays an unmarried woman with a slight flair for flirtation.
Zeenat told a news channel that she feels mentally and emotionally ready to return to acting in films. She was last seen in a marginal role in Boom .
“For an artiste to take on a project she needs to be mentally and emotionally ready - I am now. Of course, I also looked forward to being paired with 'Kakaji',” she is quoted as saying.
Both Zeenat and Rajesh Khanna agree that it was the movie’s script that excited them to do it.
‘Jaana’ is currently under production. The movie is likely to hit the theatres early next year.
The film would also have many old superhit numbers and dialogues from Rajesh Khanna and Zeenat Aman movies from the past.
