The beauty of some people does not wither with age. Actress Rekha , undoubtedly, happens to be one of them.

On October 10, Monday, Rekha turns 51 years of age. Even in her fifties, this gorgeous Libran has not lost an iota of her beauty and sensuality. She is still being cast alongside the likes of Mallika Sherawat . And without any skin exposure, she still has the appeal to steal the thunder from today’s cleavage flaunting babes.

Born as Bhanurekha on October 10, 1954 in Madras, Rekha is the daughter of south Indian actors Gemini Ganesan and Pushpavalli. She began her career in Hindi films at the age of 13 in an inconsequential film called Saawan Bhadon.

In the ensuing years, Rekha emerged as one of the most popular faces of Indian cinema. Among her famous movies are particularly the ones she did with Amitabh Bachchan – films like Do Anjaane, Suhaag, Muqqadar Ka Sikander, Mr Natwarlal, Khoon Pasina, Ram Balram and Silsila.

Also among her most memorable roles is that of a courtesan-poetess in Muzaffar Ali’s Umrao Jaan (she won National Award for her performance), Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Khoobsurat (won Filmfare Award) and Rakesh Roshan’s Khoon Bhari Maang (won Filmfare Award).

This year, Rekha was seen playing a con woman in Bachke Rehna Re Baba and had a special song appearance in Parineeta .

Rekha has many typical Libran qualities. She admits she is a shy person who doesn’t express her feelings easily. She is also a very emotional person. She has a strong liking for pets.

She has a weakness for Kanjeevaram, chiffon saris and a special liking for bangles.
