Meera to play Parveen Babi

Pakistani actress Meera will act in a Hindi movie based on the life of the late actress Parveen Babi .

Her last release, Kasak , may have bitten the dust at the marquee, but Meera continues to get new projects.

The latest in her kitty is a film based on the life and times of Parveen Babi, who died in January this year. It is still not known who is producing the movie, but there are speculations that it would be another Mahesh Bhatt venture, given the fact that the filmmaker had at one point a close relationship with Babi.

Meanwhile, Meera is nowadays leading a fund raising campaign in Pakistan to help the victims of the October 8 earthquake.

She also stated openly a few days back that Bollywood movies should not be screened in Pak because Pakistani culture is very different from Indian.
