Two films made by the same director will clash at the box-office in the Diwali and Eid week.
Filmmaker Priyadarshan is incredulous that the two films – Kyon Ki and Garam Masala – that he made in different timeframes will hit the marquee simultaneously. But he is not much worried about possible competition between the two.
Interestingly, ‘Kyon Ki’ is the second non-comedy film by Priyan, who is known more for his witty and hilarious flicks. Starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead, the movie revolves around a relationship between a doctor and her patient. The film is inspired by Jack Nicholson starrer ‘One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest’.
On the other hand, the producers of ‘Garam Masala’, Venus Films, are gearing up for a massive release of their film. Knowing well that the humour-filled movie will attract many audiences in the festive first week of November, plans are already afoot to release it with around 500 prints all over India.
‘Garam Masala’ is an out-and-out comedy adapted from Priyan’s Malayalam film ‘Boeing Boeing’.
Apart from these two films, David Dhawan’s Shaadi No.1 will also hit the theatres around Diwali time.
Looks like Bollywood has entertainment galore to offer this festive season.
