HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Raima, Riya Sen in English movie23rd Oct 2005 17.55 IST By ApunKaChoice Bureau Bengali sisters Raima Sen and Riya Sen will come together for an English movie to be shot in India and the U.S. The film, to be directed by Anjan Dutt, will be shot in Kolkata and Houston. Besides the Sen sisters, the movie would also star Bengali actor Victor Banerji , Shyan Munshi and newcomer Param Datta. Raima and Riya have already acted together in a movie titled ‘Bachelor’ which has not been released.
In Anjan Dutt film, Raima plays a contemporary girl with traditional Bengali attire. Riya, on the other hand, plays a confused, tomboyish Bengali in the U.S. The two sisters will not have any scenes together. Among the male actors, Shyan Munshi plays a man who comes to Kolkata to commercialise folk Bengali music. Param Datta, on the other hand, plays a man bored with Kolkata and goes to the US to join a software company. The movie’s director says the story idea came from its producer Joy Ganguly. Dutt told a website that the movie “will dwell on Bengalis in India, and Bengalis who have settled abroad.” Dutt said movies have already been made about Punjabis abroad. It was time to explore the Bengali connection, too. The shooting of the movie would first begin in Kolkata before moving on to Houston. The film will have few dialogues in Bengali too.
