Filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s forthcoming movie Eklavya has a surprise appearance by Sharmila Tagore .
The movie starring Amitabh Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan in pivotal roles has already been shot in Rajasthan. The makers of the movie have so far kept secret a casting surprise.
But now the secret is out. It is learnt that the movie will have Saif’s mother Sharmila Tagore, an immensely talented actress in her own right, enacting a role.
Filmmakers in Bollywood have made attempts in the past to cast the mother-son together in films. Saif was offered the role to play Sharmila Tagore’s son in Mahesh Manjrekar’s Viruddh , but the part eventually went to John Abraham .
It is not known whether Sharmila and Saif play mother-son in Eklavya.
Eklavya is slated to hit the theatres in the second half of 2006.
