Actress Rekha will feature along with fellow Bollywood star Nana Patekar for the next Hindi film by celebrated director Goutam Ghosh.
The film titled 'Yatra' will revolve around an acclaimed writer and a fictional woman character who is embedded within the writer's psyche and comes to life at times blurring the line between the real and imaginary, Ghosh told a news agency.
The character Lajwanti, to be enacted by Rekha, will thus be a blend of realism and fantasy as she will travel with the writer during his journey.
In fact, the writer's journey will be metaphysical in nature, as it will be both a journey within his mind as well a physical journey when the character will come alive from the writer's mind and have interaction with her creator and mentor, Ghosh told the agency.
The wife of the writer, to be enacted by another accomplished Bollywood actor Deepti Naval, would actively share her husband's creative thoughts and will thus have her share of interaction with Lajwanti, the mystic character fleshed out by her husband in his work on the travails of Lajwanti, who has been "kept" by a feudal lord of Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh.
This is the first time Ghosh returns to Telangana as the setting for his film since making Telugu movie 'Maabhoomi" early in his career.
