HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Marked improvement in Amitabh Bachchan's condition06th Dec 2005 22.11 IST By Agencies There was "marked improvement in the condition of mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan , who underwent a surgery for an intestinal ailment at Lilavati Hospital, and he talked to visitors and read newspapers, hospital sources said. "There has been a marked improvement in Amitabh's condition and he was talking to visitors and reading newspapers," the sources said in Mumbai. 
Meanwhile, the actor continued with the liquid diet intake since intravenous fluids had been discontinued since yesterday, except for antibiotics and vitamin supplements, the sources said. A series of tests are likely to be performed on the actor soon so as to decide when the actor could be discharged from hospital, sources added. The megastar, who underwent a surgery for diverticulitis of small intestine at Lilavati on November 30, today met close friend and industrialist Anil Ambani, besides family members including wife Jaya Bachchan , son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Shweta, hospital sources said. Bollywood veterans like producer Yash Chopra , actor Mithun Chakraborty , producer Boney Kapoor and his actress wife Sridevi , visited the hospital and are believed to have met Bachchan to express wishes for a speedy recovery. According to hospital sources, the guest book maintained outside the ICU, where every one intending to express wishes for Bachchan is asked to pen down the wishes, was thick with the names of who's who of Bollywood. The 63-year-old actor has assured that he would write back personally to each of the persons, whose names are in the guest book, to express his thanks.
