The colossal debacle of pre-independence saga The Rising has doomed many hopes. Aamir is also the one who got affected from its dismal show. The actor played protagonist Mangal Pandey and thus has hibernated himself for four years. 
Ash was supposed to play the role of Bengali widow Jwala in the film but somehow it could not materialize. There have been efforts in the past too to pair Ash and Aamir in one film but the hope has been belied so far. After the success of Lagaan Aamir had decided to produce another film under his banner. Like 'Lagaan' the film will be period film set in the backdrop of pre-independence era and the shooting of the film is expected to start next year. The reports are still not clear and there are speculations about the film. It was the Pepsi commercial that made them act together and since then it's been long wait for their fans.
