Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is all set to tie the knot with his longtime beau Kiran Rao at a simple ceremony in Mumbai today, after which the couple would head towards the cool climes of Panchagani for a gala celebration.
This will be the second marriage for Aamir, who has divorced his first wife Reena some time back but first one for Rao.
The couple met while Rao was assisting filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar during the making of the film Lagaan .
While the registered ceremony is likely to be a simple affair at his parents' home in suburban Mumbai, the family would leave for Panchgani soon where Aamir would host a formal party and has booked several hotels to accommodate the guests.
Preparations for the reception are being kept a hush hush affair and not many Bollywood personalities are likely to attend the celebrations, sources said.
"Aamir is a private person and he has only invited those very close to him. It is still not clear who all are exactly attending the party, but some famous faces are likely to be there," the sources said.
The reception will be held at a hotel in Panchgani on December 29, while the guests would also join the newly wed for the next couple of days to usher in the New Year, the sources added.
The couple will go to Bangalore after the reception where Rao's parents will host a reception for them.
