'Fight Club' scared of 'Rang De Basanti' 18th Jan 2006

The postponement of Aamir Khan ’s forthcoming film Rang De Basanti has affected other movies as well.
Early on, when ‘Rang De Basanti’ was scheduled to release on January 20, other movies like Fight Club , Aksar and Mere Jeevan Saathi were set for Jan 27 release. But now that Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra ’s big movie has been postponed for Jan 26 release, the releases of the three other films have been pushed ahead.
Vicky Chopra , the director of ‘Fight Club’, makes no bones about admitting that his movie has been postponed to avoid clash with a big film like ‘Rang De Basanti’.
On the other hand, Anant Mahadevan , the director of ‘Aksar’, says the decision to postpone his movie is not due to ‘Rang De Basanti’, but because Jan 27 was getting too crowded with many movies releasing on the same day.
And ‘Mere Jeevan Saathi’, a movie that has been held up for a pretty long time, too has been shifted.
All the three shifted films are now set to release on February 3. Also releasing on the same day would be Kalpana Lazmi’s movie Chingari .
