HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Aamir Khan felt serenity at Golden Temple08th Feb 2006 16.07 IST By ApunKaChoice Bureau When Aamir Khan shot for the first scenes of his recent hit movie Rang De Basanti at the Golden Temple in Amritsar, the star felt calmness and serenity. In the month of February last year, when the very first shot of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra ’s ‘Rang De Basanti’ was canned, Aamir Khan visited the Golden Temple for the first time. 
Although the Holy Sikh shrine keeps its gates open for people of all religions, Aamir being a Muslim by birth had never visited the gurudwara before. And when he did step into the temple complex, the star says he felt serenity. One of the excerpts from Aamir’s online chat on the BBC Asian Network quotes the actor as saying: “I visited the Golden Temple for the first time when we shot for RDB and it was amazing. It's one of the most peaceful places I've been to. As you enter the place there's a certain serenity that surrounds you. I really enjoyed being there.” The scene shot at the Golden Temple also showed Aamir and other stars of the movie bathing in the cold waters of the temple sarovar. Aamir says while the water was really cold, taking bath in it was “great”. Meanwhile, ‘Rang De Basanti’ is emerging as the first hit Hindi movie of 2006.
