The dream run of Rang De Basanti at the box office came to a predictable end last week with the release of Taxi Number 9211 .
Rang De Basanti, which has ruled the box office ever since its release over four weeks back, has now been dislodged from its pedestal by the Nana Patekar – John Abraham starrer.
The unique combination of Nana and John, the direction by Milan Luthria , and an engaging story line more than make up for the low budget used to make the film.
The excellent musical score by popular music directors Vishal and Shekhar will probably keep the film perched at the top for some weeks buoyed by the number ‘Meter Down’ which has become a rage in the country.
The story line for 'Taxi Number 9211' is inspired by the Samuel L Jackson - Ben Affleck thriller Changing Lanes (2002) but Luthria has only taken inspiration from the film not copied it blatantly.
Even though the Aamir Khan starrer Rang De Basanti slid to the second spot last week it continues to make good money and draw sizeable audiences.
