HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Holi fanfare missing in Bollywood14th Mar 2006 20.15 IST By ApunKaChoice Bureau Most of the Bollywood celebrities don’t look like in the mood to celebrate the festival of colours this year. There was a time when Holi used to be an awaited event in Bollywood. The Kapoors used to throw Holi bashes every year and the entire film industry used to party at the Kapoor residence. In the last few years, it is the Bachchans who have been hosting the Holi bashes. But this year’s Holi would be a lacklustre fare in Bollywood.
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan says he won’t be celebrating this year as his family is heading out of town and he has to baby-sit his kids. He would be working in the afternoon. Hrithik Roshan is said to be out of India, shooting for a song in Rio De Janerio, Brazil. Vidya Balan says she avoids playing Holi because the festival has become an excuse for “lewd behaviour” for many people. Plans of the Bachchans are still not known. But considering that Amitabh Bachchan has just recuperated from illness, there are chances that there won’t be any celebrations at the Bachchans’ too. But then, with the Bachchans you never know! Actor Kunal Kapoor , who was recently seen in Rang De Basanti , will avoid rang this Holi because he has a photo session to shoot for on the next day. Actress Shabana Azmi too would not play Holi as she is shooting for one of her upcoming films in Goa. The ones who have some celebration plans this year include Sohail Khan (who will celebrate with his kid and friends), Dino Morea (who will party with friends) and Nandana Sen (might play with friends). The ones who say they won’t even step out of their house – Farah Khan and Simi Garewal . Happy Holi to all our readers.
