Aishwarya being sought for film with Akshay

Two filmmakers in Bollywood are seeking to sign Aishwarya Rai for their respective movies.

It is learnt that filmmaker Dharmesh Darshan is very eager to rope in the beautiful actress opposite Akshay Kumar in his next movie which will most likely roll in June this year.

All that is known about the movie is that it will be a romantic story (Darshan’s forte) to be produced by the Taurani brothers of TIPS.

Darshan reportedly met Aishwarya in February and narrated the movie’s story to her. Although Ash is said to have expressed her interest in the project, she has yet to give her nod.

Presently, Ash is committed to Yash Raj’s Dhoom 2 . After this she will move on to filmmaker Mani Ratnam ’s next movie co-starring Abhishek Bachchan . The work on Ratnam’s movie is likely to last from April to June, which means Ash would be free just in time for Darshan’s project, indeed if she chooses to be a part of it.

On a different front, filmmaker Harry Baweja too wants Aishwarya to act in his futuristic love story titled ‘Love Story 2050’. The movie would be the launchpad of Harry’s son Harman. Harry too has had talks with Ash but hasn’t got a definitive word from the actress yet.

Ash is currently out of country, shooting for ‘Dhoom 2’. A clear picture will emerge when she returns.

But going by the look of things, it seems more probable that the actress will commit to Darshan’s project than Baweja’s. One reason for this is that Baweja’s movie has been talked about for three years but hardly any progress has been made. Kareena Kapoor was initially signed as Harman’s heroine in the film, but she opted out just a month ago. Priyanka Chopra too has refused the offer to act in the film.

It seems that Baweja’s ‘futuristic love story’ may not really be futuristic by the time it is ready for release.
