Sushmita likely to play emperor Ashoka's wife

Sushmita Sen 's long cherished wish to act in a historical movie may soon be realized.

Contrary to the rumours flowing around, Sush is tipped to play the fifth wife of Mauryan king Ashoka and not the Jhansi Ki Rani, as some reports suggest.

The movie will be directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi , who made the partition drama Pinjar and also the teleserial 'Chanakya'. Dwivedi is particularly well versed with Indian history.

Dwivedi is already working on another historical project called Prithviraj-Samjukta, which will star Sunny Deol in the lead.

It is learnt that although Sush did like the role offered by the filmmaker in his movie on Ashoka, the actress expressed keen interest in playing Jhansi Ki Rani.

Dwivedi suggests he might even write a film on the valiant queen for Sush if she asks him to.

Dwivedi also adds that 'Ashoka' might star a big Hollywood actor.
