HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD Aamir Khan’s 'south' connection27th Mar 2006 22.00 IST By Nikhil Kumar Not only has Aamir Khan married a girl who has her roots in south India, the actor is now ready to act in two films to be made by south Indian directors. Just last year, Aamir Khan returned to the silver screen after a four-year hibernation with his ‘Mangal Pandey The Rising ’ that unluckily failed to rise to the high expectations that were had of his comeback movie. But this year’s release Rang De Basanti has more than compensated for that as the movie is on its way to become one of the top grossers in the recent years. 
Although Aamir is not going to be part of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s next project, the actor has some real good movies in his hands right now. He is already said to have completed the shooting of Kunal Kohli’s Fanaah in which he plays a character with grey shades. Kajol and Tabu are the movie’s heroines. Apart from this, Aamir has given his nod to two projects, both of which will be directed by south Indian filmmakers. Before you jump to conclusions, let us clarify that both films would be in Hindi and not in any south Indian language. It is confirmed that Aamir will act in a Mani Ratnam film. However, it won’t be the film Ratnam is making with Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. It would be a different project that would go on the floors in October this year. Besides this project, Aamir will also act in the Hindi remake of the action-packed Tamil hit Ghajini , that was directed by A. R. Murugadas. Aamir was bowled over by the movie when he saw it a few days back with his wife Kiran Rao. Now, the actor will star in its Hindi remake that will be made in a single schedule by the ‘Ghajini’ director himself. The film will most likely release by this year-end.
