Siddharth says though he would have loved to repeat Preity Zinta (Saif’s heroine in SN) in his next movie as well, but he chose Rani because the film is not an ultra-modern, unconventional story like SN was, but an intense love story on a very different level.
Bollywood trade quotes Siddharth as saying: “Salaam Namaste was a contemporary film in keeping with its theme of a live-in relationship, but my next film will portray romance on a very different level, with all its intensity.”
Over why he chose Rani and not Preity for the movie, Siddharth said: “I would have loved to repeat the Saif-Preity combination once again but I felt the Saif-Rani teaming was more apt considering the subject of the film.”
The film’s title has still not been finalized.
Meanwhile, Rani and Preity will both be seen together in Karan Johar’s next movie Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna , which is said to be a story about complexities of relations in an urban setting.
