Who will play Vidya Balan's husband?

The search is still on for the actor who will play Vidya Balan 's husband in Rituparno Ghosh 's Rahgir .

Earlier there was speculation that Sunil Shetty has been finalized for the role.

But now reports are that Shetty will not be working in Rahgir and has politely refused the role that was offered to him by Ghosh.

Apparently, Shetty turned down the offer because he has taken time off from work and will return after a while.

A media report quoted Rongita Nandy, from Pritish Nandy Communications as saying, “Sunil is not doing the film. It is true that Rituparno had approached Sunil for the role, but he was not signed on for the film. Sunil loved the script and he was excited about the film, but he has currently decided to go on a sabbatical for six months, so he had to turn down the offer. Sunil said, ‘If I do this film my other producers might take offence.’ It was very nice of him to inform us well in advance so that we knew that we had to search for an alternative.”

The buzz is that Arjun Rampal has been approached for the role.

“Yes, we are looking forward to casting Arjun for the role. It's a very important role, much like a role parallel to Akshay Kumar 's in the film. We had our initial talks with Arjun, and dates seem to be a major issue. We will start shooting for the film from May 1 in Bangkok, but Arjun's dates have been promised to Farhan Akhtar for Don . He is trying his level best to adjust the dates and work it out,” Nandy said.

So it still isn’t clear as to who will play Vidya's husband in Rahgir.
