HOME | SCOOP!! & NEWS | BOLLYWOOD An emotional homecoming for Salman14th Apr 2006 19.45 IST By Nikhil Kumar Salman Khan’s eyes welled up when he spoke about his ordeal of three days in jail and particularly about his mother who took ill after the actor was put behind bars early this week. Speaking to mediapersons outside his home in Mumbai, a visibly emotional Salman Khan said he would “never forget” the last three days in his entire life. 
The actor said what made him distraught was not his own suffering in the jail, but the news of his mother, Salma, being hospitalized. The actor, who was treated like any other convict at the Jodhpur Central Jail, was not allowed to call his mother. Salman said the first thing on his mind after he was granted bail on Thursday was to rush to Mumbai to meet his mother. Upon reaching home, the actor had an emotional reunion with his father Salim Khan and mother Salma who was discharged from the hospital the same day. Salman then went to the balcony of his home to greet hundreds of fans who were singing and dancing in the celebration of their favorite star’s release. Salman told mediapersons that he was thankful to his fans “from the bottom of my heart” for the support they showed him. The actor said the three days in Jodhpur jail were a moving experience for him. There, he came across inmates who were in frail health and have been behind bars for years. Salman said he vows to do something for them. Salman said he wanted to spend the coming days with his family. Salman’s brother Sohail Khan said Salman’s return is the real Eid for their family.
