Amitabh Bachchan scared of horror films

He may have acted in a segment of the recently released spooky thriller Darna Zaroori Hai from Ram Gopal Varma’s Factory, but superstar Amitabh Bachchan says he is scared of watching horror films in real life.

The 63-year-old film legend says in an IANS interview that he is “petrified” of seeing horror films. He says if there is a horror movie or serial on the TV, he quickly changes channels.

The superstar still remembers how tormented he was after he saw Ram Gopal Varma ’s movie Bhoot (Ghost).

“I saw Ramu's 'Bhoot' where a ghost kept appearing. I can't tell you how tormented I was. For months afterwards every time I went to bed I imagined that woman from 'Bhoot' would appear from nowhere, from under the bed or behind the curtain,” Bachchan is quoted as saying.

However, the Big B says shooting for ‘Darna Zaroori Hai’ wasn’t scary.

In the film, Bachchan acts in only one of the seven episodes. In the segment, directed by Ramu himself, Bachchan plays a professor who believes there is a ghostly presence in his house. He tries to convince his pupil (played by Ritesh Deshmukh ) of this fact.

Meanwhile, Amitabh has now got back into the thick of work. He has just shot a schedule of his movie Cheeni Kum with Tabu in Delhi and he is now in Kerala to shoot for Ramu’s next venture titled Nishabd .

‘Nishabd’ is said to be the story of an old man’s obsession with a young girl. The film will also star Revathy.

Interestingly, both ‘Cheeni Kum’ and ‘Nishabd’ feature Bachchan in very unusual roles. Both movies are sort of mature love stories, tales of an old man’s love for a young woman or girl.

Well, it would be something to watch Mr. Bachchan in these roles.
