Apart from the film, which has Shah Rukh Khan playing a soccer coach, two more Bollywood films are in the pipeline to cash on Soccer World Cup fever.
We have already told you that Yashraj Films is making ‘Chak De’ with SRK starring as a girls' soccer team coach.
SRK is no stranger to the game as he captained his school team years ago.
And now reports are that Ahmed Khan, another filmmaker, has begun filming his next movie tentatively titled 'Yahan Ke Hum Sikander', which has Nana Patekar playing a soccer coach with Sohail Khan , Vivek Oberoi , Sunil Shetty and Arjun Rampal as key players.
For Ahmed, the movie is a dream come true. He wanted to make a film about soccer since the last World Cup four years ago. "Finally, I am going to capture it on the screen," he was quoted as saying.
India's soccer star Baichung Bhutia has consulted for Ahmed on his movie.
"It's good that Bollywood is planning to honor the sport on the silver screen," Bhutia said. "All that I hope is that these films will be a fair and realistic depiction of the game."
Vivek Agnihotri is another director who has announced an upcoming soccer movie.
"It's a film based on human triumph," he said. "World Cup soccer is the most watched event all over the world, which just sums up the devotion that the sport enjoys," he said.
