When Rakhi Sawant gets in the mood while performing her item numbers, she can become a bit hot to handle.
This is what happened when Rakhi performed on May 18, last week, at Kolhapur as a brand ambassador for a beer brand.
Dressed in skimpy costumes, Rakhi performed to a medley of numbers from Bollywood films. While some people seemed to enjoy Rakhi’s stage performance – full of pelvic thrusts and jiggling of her wares – there were others who found certain gestures and dance steps by the bold belle as “vulgar and obscene.”
Consequently, an organisation named ‘Purush Hakk Suraksha Samiti’ (to uphold men’s rights) reportedly approached the local court seeking to restrain Rakhi from performing in the district again. The organization claimed that Rakhi indulged in obscene and vulgar acts that were against public morality.
A case under sections 110, 112 and 117 of the Bombay Police Act was registered against Sawant at Shahupuri police station.
However, Rakhi was let-off after a warning as it was a non-cognizable offence, Shahupuri police station sources are quoted as saying.
