Karan Johar ’s stall at the Cannes Film Festival in France has certainly bore some fruit for the filmmaker.
Reports have it that Karan has been able to sell his forthcoming movie, the much-awaited Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna , to Germany, France and Poland.
Normally, in the overseas market, a famous Bollywood movie gets a release in the UK, US, Australia and in the Middle East.
It may be mentioned that Karan’s previous movies Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kal Ho Na Ho (produced by Karan) got good audience response in Poland and Germany when they were screened there last year.
Karan says the presence of Shah Rukh Khan in his film has been instrumental for the sale of ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’.
“The support that Shah Rukh Khan has in Europe is amazing. We discovered first-hand in Cannes how much Shah Rukh matters to the market out there,” a media report quotes Karan as saying.
After his few days at Cannes, Karan has now gone to London to hold some meetings to tap further overseas market for ‘KANK’.
