It is a medium budget film that might have sunk before rolling had Shah Rukh Khan not lent his support to the project.
Filmmaker E. Niwas has for some time been working on a project called ‘My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves’, starring newcomer Nikhil Dwivedi and Amrita Rao in the main roles.
While the film was announced sometime back, it had not yet taken off for the want of financial backing, which is now reported to have come from Shah Rukh Khan and Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.
It is learnt that SRK liked the movie’s story idea when he heard it and he decided to fund the project via his company Red Chillies Entertainment.
SRK’s company will be looking after the production and marketing of the film.
SRK’s support is a great morale booster for E. Niwas, who is now looking forward to start the film by August and release it by this year-end or early next year.
The film stars a host of small-time actors like Boman Irani , Rajpal Yadav , Lilette Dubey and Mukesh Tiwari.
