Shahid promotes 'Chup Chup Ke' in Delhi

Shahid Kapur was in Delhi on Tuesday to promote his forthcoming film Chup Chup Ke , which hits the theatres this Friday.

Though the film is ready to hit the screen, lack of enough publicity has not created sufficient hype for this Priyadarshan movie. The director himself has not taken part in the film’s promotional campaigns because he’s been undergoing treatment for his sinus in an Ayurvedic centre in Kerala. Even Sunil Shetty, who plays an important role in the film, has not promoted the flick.

In this scenario, it is Shahid Kapur who has spun into action. The cute looking actor was in Delhi on Tuesday for a press conference held at PVR Plaza to promote the film.

In his address to the media, Shahid said ‘Chup Chup Ke’ is a wholesome entertainer that will be liked by people of all ages. He said the film is a comedy about love and confusion that comes along with it.

Shahid was also all praise for the film’s director, Priyadarshan.

The actor said working with Kareena Kapoor in the film was “a great delight.”

Besides Shahid and Kareena, ‘Chup Chup Ke’ stars Paresh Rawal , Neha Dhupia , Sunil Shetty , Rajpal Yadav , Sushma Reddy and Om Puri .

The film features Shahid as a small-time guy who tries to commit suicide because he is too burdened with debts. However, he is fished out of the sea by two fishermen (Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav), who sell their prized catch to a Gujarati businessman.

Living in the Gujarati businessman’s house, Shahid pretends being deaf and mute. He also falls in love with the businessman’s mute daughter (Kareena Kapoor). But soon all his lies are exposed.

‘Chup Chup Ke’ is the second consecutive release to star Shahid and Kareena as lovers after Abbas Mastan’s 36 China Town which released over a month back.
