There can be no two opinions about it. Paresh Rawal is the best comedian in Bollywood at present.
Sometimes just a facial expression by Rawal can throw the audience into fits of laughter. Such is the comic command of this polished, all-round actor who will be seen this Friday in two comedies Phir Hera Pheri and Chup Chup Ke .
In ‘Phir Hera Pheri’, Rawal gets to reprise his role of Baburao, the myopic, wise, innocent, and – ironically – cunning old man caught in a web of confusing situations with Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty .
Baburao also happens to be the most famous and loved character Rawal has played till date.
Rawal is particularly the favorite one of director Priyadarshan – the master of comedy genre – who makes sure to cast him in all the hilarious films he makes. Be it Hera-Pheri , Hulchul , Hungama , Garam Masala , Malamaal Weekly , Rawal had a significant role in all Priyan’s movies.
And in ‘Chup Chup Ke’, Priyadarshan’s latest offering, Rawal plays a fisherman, who, along with his colleague (Rajpal Yadav), fishes out a young man from the sea and sells him to a Gujarati businessman.
Releasing alongside will be ‘Phir Hera Pheri’, a sequel to ‘Hera Pheri’. The sequel, however, is not directed by Priyadarshan.
Rawal says he likes intelligent humour and not stupid, crass comedies. His personal favorite comedians are Naseeruddin Shah , Om Puri and Amitabh Bachchan .
But we still believe that Paresh Rawal is the best among all.
