The absence of Shah Rukh Khan may not really be a jolt to the forthcoming IIFA awards in Dubai, as Salman Khan has agreed to chip in.
The event, to be held from June 14 to 17, will be a huge, star-studded extravaganza, featuring movie premieres, music releases and an awards show. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan is the brand ambassador for IIFA.
The event had apparently received a jolt a few days back after the reports that Shah Rukh Khan won’t attend it. Even Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor , who were previously expected to perform at the event, will not be able to make it to Dubai because they would be shooting for Farhan Akhtar’s movie Don in the coming days. Shah Rukh will not be shooting for the film, but holidaying in London with his family.
With three big stars ‘boycotting’ the show, Wizcraft (the event management firm managing IIFA) reportedly approached producer Sajid Nadiadwala to adjust the shooting dates of his movie Jaaneman so that its stars Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta can make up for the absence of SRK, Kareena and Priyanka.
The friendly producer is said to have made adjustments. So the good news is that now, Salman, Preity and Akki will perform at the event.
