Controversial item girl Rakhi Sawant is worried that the ban on her stage shows in Maharashtra will take away her “bread and butter”.
Rakhi, who recently slapped molestation charges on the pop singer Mika, was speaking to mediapersons in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Rakhi said the Maharashtra government was “trying to snatch” her “bread and butter” by imposing a ban on her stage shows.
Rakhi, who was performing in a series of shows across Maharashtra for a beer company, said the shows were the means of her livelihood.
Earlier, the Aurangabad police had banned her shows and in Sangli and Kolhapur, cases were registered against Rakhi for her "objectionable" outfits. Also in Nanded, the police had to resort to lathicharge on the spectators.
Rakhi claimed that she has a huge fan base, with about 20-25,000 people attending her shows.
When asked whether her "objectionable dressing" was the reason behind the ban, she quipped that "whatever manner I dress, people are bound to criticise it".
On the Mika Singh episode, she said he should apologise to her or else the National Commission of Women (NCW) will force him to send her an apology.
