It is not for nothing that producer Sajid Nadiadwala calls Salman Khan his “lucky mascot”.
Even as Nadiadwala’s forthcoming movie Jaaneman , starring Salman, Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta , is in the making, the film has set a Bollywood record.
According to reports on Bollywood Trade, the film has been bought by a distributor for a record sum of Rs.70.4 million. This is estimated to be more than twice the amount for which Aamir Khan ’s Rang De Basanti was sold. Even Shah Rukh Khan ’s Main Hoon Na did not fetch so much amount in its distribution sales.
Trade pundits believe it is the coming together of Salman and Akshay after superhit Mujhse Shaadi Karogi that has worked so well for ‘Jaaneman’. Both actors command huge fan following in India as well as abroad.
‘Jaaneman’ is directed by Shirish Kunder. The film has been shot in New York. It has choreography by Kunder’s wife Farah Khan .
The film’s producer calls Salman Khan his “lucky mascot”. The two have so far worked together in four films out of which three have been box-office hits.
‘Jaaneman’ is in post-production stages. It likely to release by August end.
