Aamir Khan to produce a campus love story 25th June 2006

After the superhit Lagaan a few years ago, actor Aamir Khan is dabbling in film production once again.
As learnt, Aamir’s new production will be titled Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and will mark the directorial debut of scriptwriter Abbas Tyrewala. The movie, a romantic comedy about college-going youths, will introduce Aamir’s cousin Imraan.
It is not that Aamir is producing this film to launch his cousin. When Tyrewala finalized Imraan to play the male lead in his film, it was Jhamu Sughand who was supposed to produce the project. But the deal could not come through with Sughand.
It was then Tyrewala narrated the script to Aamir. Aamir, who is known to be a stickler for perfection, liked the script in the very first hearing and did not ask for any changes at all. It appears that Tyrewala had done his homework well before meeting Aamir.
So, we learn that Aamir has given a go-ahead to the project.
Tyrewala is now looking for a fresh face to play Imraan’s heroine in the film.
