Katrina charmed more by beautiful stories than stardom

For Katrina Kaif the real charm of being an actress lies not in stardom but in the films that tell “beautiful stories”.

Katrina has traversed the long road from modeling to small roles in Hindi films to becoming a full-time lead actress. Her last release Humko Deewana Kar Gaye has had an average run abroad and her coming films (with Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar ) look very promising.

But, for Katrina the stardom that comes along with being an actress is not as important as the joy of working in movies that tell beautiful stories, stories that remain in people’s memories.

“Films are absolute magic for me. For me, it's not so much the stars and stardom in the film that I love, as much as films in their entirety that have beautiful stories,” Katrina says in an interview of the July issue of the magazine Stardust.

Katrina says adulations from fans are ok, but what matters for her is that she becomes a part of memorable films.

To bring home her point, Katrina cites the example of evergreen movies like ‘Gone With The Wind’ and ‘Casablanca’.

“These kind of films live forever, they're great, they're classics and immortal…You live in people's memories forever...And for me, it's that which makes it beautiful, being part of something that you love,” Kaif is quoted as saying.

Katrina’s forthcoming films include Partner , Welcome and ‘Sholay’ remake by Ram Gopal Varma.

She has also signed Anil Sharma's film ‘Aapne’ with Bobby Deol , and Abbas Mastan's next untitled film for Tips.
